Welcome to readQ ("the Service"). By creating an account, logging in, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and any future revisions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
- Minors: If you are under the age of 20 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must obtain the consent of your legal guardian (parent or custodian) before using the Service.
- If you register on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you are authorized to do so.
2. Description of Service
readQ is a reading assessment and learning platform that provides reading materials, quizzes, proficiency evaluations, learning records, and teacher assignment/recommendation features. The platform may add, update, or remove features at any time.
3. Account, Identity, and Security
- You must provide accurate and up-to-date registration information and maintain the confidentiality of your credentials. You are responsible for all activities under your account.
- Do not impersonate, transfer, or rent accounts. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Infringe upon the intellectual property, privacy, or personality rights of others;
- Upload or distribute unlawful, violent, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate content;
- Engage in unauthorized scraping, reverse engineering, interference, or excessive system load;
- Circumvent payment or quota systems, abuse free plans or APIs;
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or institutional policies.
Violation may result in suspension or termination of services, removal of content, and possible legal action.
5. User Content and License
- You retain ownership of the content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and back up your content as necessary for operation (including assignments and learning data).
- You warrant that you have the right to upload such content and that it does not infringe the rights of others.
- If you are a teacher or school representative, you consent to the use of uploaded materials for educational management and analytics.
6. Intellectual Property
- All software, interfaces, databases, logos, and designs of this Service are owned by us or our licensors.
- You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or re-offer the Service without written permission.
7. AI and Evaluation Limitations
- The Service may use algorithms or third-party models to generate proficiency levels, recommendations, or statistics. These are for educational reference only and do not constitute academic, professional, medical, or legal advice.
- We strive for accuracy but make no guarantees of completeness or suitability for any specific teaching goal.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party providers such as Cloudflare Pages (frontend hosting/CDN/security) and AWS Lightsail / Amazon RDS (backend and database hosting). You agree to their handling of data according to their respective terms.
9. Payment and Subscription (if applicable)
For paid plans:
- Prices are as listed on the website. Recurring payments will renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing cycle.
- Fees are non-refundable, except where required by law or explicitly announced otherwise.
10. Termination and Suspension
You may deactivate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, pose security risks, or as required by law. Data retention and deletion follow the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted access, accuracy, or error-free operation. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting updates on the website. Material changes will be communicated appropriately. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.). Any disputes shall be submitted to the Taipei District Court as the court of first instance, unless otherwise required by law.
